Instructions and rubric for students to complete a book report on a biography of their choice.

(Grade 5)

Objectives:

Students will write a book report after reading a biography of their choice.

You will write a five paragraph essay that clearly discusses an important inventor.

A quick and easy way to have your students practice reading a biography of a famous person, then write about their accomplishments and type of character.

This is a rubric to help you grade a student's presentation for a biography book report.

Student speaks clearly and distinctly, with appropriate volume, inflection and pace maintains audience interest most of the time.

It is clear to my readers that I am an expert on the subject of my biography because I included relevant research from various primary and secondary sources.

BIOGRAPHY BOOK REPORT

If the biography you read did not contain some of this information, please look it up online or in an encyclopedia.

1. Cover page:
   Include a drawing of your character, the title of the biography, the author of the biography and your name.
   
   
2. Page one:
   Tell the date and place where your character was born and raised.

   Don&#;t include too many family details or details about habits and hobbies that don&#;t have anything to do with their later work.
   
   

3. Describe the early life of your character. Tell about what kind of person he or she was.
